A workshop with Beatriz Cabur on how to effectively create the change we want to see in the world by reimagining theatricality through digital platforms and tools.

About the workshop

Digital Theatre Artivism is a live performance that integrates various digital elements, such as virtual environments, multimedia content, live streaming, interactive elements, and digital storytelling techniques, into a theatrical context to effectively create the change we want to see in the world.

Over the course of four weeks, students went on an immersive journey into the realm of Digital Theatre, touching both fundamental and advanced aspects of this captivating medium. We examined the terminology, concepts, diverse forms, and its boundless possibilities, drawing from the rich tapestry of 12 years of Digital Theatre productions directed by Beatriz Cabur.

The first session started with a comprehensive presentation that established the foundational groundwork for the subsequent sessions. This presentation was designed not only to clarify key concepts but also to ignite the imagination, creativity, and enthusiasm among the participants.

Between sessions, the students were tasked with concise assignments, research and creating with AI tools and different software and hardware. This provided them with the opportunity to craft both the digital and analogical components of a complete collectively devised text-based theatrical work, which was then further developed during the second and third session.

The culmination of our journey took place during the fourth session, wherein we brought our collaborative creations to life through digital live performances.
